Totally Frenched Out

So we're just going to ignore the shittiness that was these past few weeks, and pretend they never happened. Instead, I am choosing to focus on how good things are going with work, and how I'll finally be back in France again on Sunday. It seriously feels like I have been gone for two months, not two weeks. I am wondering what affect this long separation will have on my (still new) relationship with C, if any at all.

The weather has been bitterly cold here - with lows topping (or should that be bottoming?) out in the serious minuses - like the -30° windchill that we had last night. Aïe. It took a good half an hour for my vehicle to warm up this morning.
Which made me wonder what on Earth this Amish dude was doing out in his horse and buggy at 7am - when the temperature was still -20°. My guess is that he had a preggo wife at home with an ice cream and pickle craving. lol

You wastefully let your car run for 30 minutes for no "real purpose?" The Europeans would be SHOCKED! Might want to keep that quiet. ;-)

Who said anything about letting it run for 30 minutes? I was IN the car for most of that time - it was just getting up to a decent temperature by the time I arrived at work! lol

I think I'd feel a lot safer and calmer in a horse drawn buggy!

I so hear ya, sister. My last trip home was anything but enjoyable, with my mom recovering from double knee surgery and being a bit of a handful sometimes (nurses always make the worst patients!) But look at it this way: you have PARIS to come HOME to, and your new beau as well! Isn't it nice to know you've got somewhere better to be?

And I'm guessing the Amish guy probably had homemade ice cream and home-canned pickles out at his place for the preggo wife... maybe he was an Amish doctor out making a house call? Brave man going out there with no heater in that buggy; shades of Little House on the Prairie!
