Totally Frenched Out

C & I attended the Yelp Open Party last week and since it was such a nice night (and many-a-calorie were consumed), we decided to walk back from Bastille to St Michel again.

You might remember my post a few weeks back about the Apple ad. Well, it seems the gigantic Ipad2 has been removed, and the sides have been replaced with a more appropriate covering:
The middle section is still blank however, so I'm not sure if they're just in the middle of recovering it, or if they're planning on putting another ad up in its place...

Ah!

I was back in Paris as a tourist last week, and walked down in the same area, and was as horrified as you to find this disgusting Apple ad placed in the middle of Paris!

On my way back, in the plane, I read Le Canard Enchaîné, and there was a small article about those huge ads. Apparently JC Decaux had friends in our delightful government so they accepted a law to have huge ads on public monuments (like l'Opéra Garnier), but the Paris Mayor Office managed to get it cancelled... for now.

I forgot the details, but you should have a look in Le Canard (it's the édition from this week, it will change tomorrow though, so hurry up! ;))
