Le bar à tartines
Here's another fun one for ya, especially for those expats who remember the pre-Philly cream cheese in France days and what a pain in the butt it was to make a cheesecake back then.
Philadelphia is will be opening a pop-up cream cheese bar in Paris from June 5-9, at 14 rue Jean Jacques Rousseau - 75001 PARIS from 10am to 6pm daily. They'll have all kinds of sweet and savory goodies to taste, and there will be cooking workshops held each day (advance reservations required).

Have you tried chocolate Philadelphia? Delicious!
I was pleased when Philadelphia cream cheese arrived in my Monoprix, even with all its odd flavors. But I do indeed remember using Kiri, or St Moret to make cream cheese frosting or cheesecake, with excellent results.
Although Philly cream cheese is available in my supermarkets, I use St Moret instead. The French version. :)
I need to re-read the ingredients of Philly... make sure there's no #$%& in it... (great, now I am fantasizing about scallion cream cheese with an everything bagel... no bueno!)
I have to say I love St Moret too, I find it pretty much the same, but I'm pleased at the trend of more international things hitting Paris - finally! The Marks and Spencers in Levallois is practically my second home.
I haven't been out to the M&S in Levallois yet, but I hear it's great!!
LOL I still make cheesecake with St Moret, no big deal...
