I write a lot about Paris, but here's something for those out in the countryside. I was reading the Metro newspaper on my way to Nantes this AM, and came across an article looking for 1000 volunteers to participate in a health study. They are looking for people willing to wear a FitBit for six months to track their activity and weight (the goal is to see if bracelets like the FitBit actually help people lose weight, or if there's just a placebo effect early on.
Participants are needed in Lyon, Bordeaux, Lille & Montpellier, but unfortunately not Paris. It's too bad, because I've always wanted to try out the FitBit!
If you are interested, you can sign up at www.mysantemobile.fr. Happy exercising!

Boooo I want to participate! I have had a FitBit since December and I can attest that it was done little to help me lose weight or move/walk more. However, I do now know an average of how active I am and how many calories I burn so when I have been trying to lose weight I know what my limitations are for calories better. I have lost a bit of weight since I got it, but I think that had more to do w/ the office competition than the fitbit. Either way, it's a fun little thing, Andrew and I both have them now.
Thank you!! I've been meaning to get a FitBit for a while, so this is the *perfect* opportunity!!!
I'm going to write about it on my blog too, to hopefully encourage others to sign up.
Too bad it's not in Grenoble, too! Max would have been all over that lol.
Ooh! Fun! I signed up. We'll see if they accept me or not!
ooh, I'm in Montpellier, maybe I'll sign up although I already know I'm not terribly active as I have a job in front of a computer...
My dad and I are fitbit addicts! I'm always trying to meet my daily step goals and if I've noticed I haven't been moving much I'll get up and go for a short walk, take the stairs, etc.
Have to laugh at those places being described as the "countryside", you've been in Paris too long! ;) No Tours, of course, but I'm curious to check it out anyway, thanks for the inspiration!
My husband wears the FitBit. It's a bit of an addiction.
