Totally Frenched Out

Whew, what a crazy past few days. Most of you know this already, but I went to the préfecture to renew my cds on Friday. I'd been crossing my fingers, knocking on wood and generally doing anything else thought to bring good luck, in the hopes of getting the 10 year card. But it was unfortunately not meant to be. I was told "you'll get it next year".......for the third year in a row now. So frustrating.

But then it was on to bigger and better things. Such as showing Jasmin around my little corner of Bretagne. We were blessed with absolutely beautiful weather, especially for this time of year, and we had a jam-packed weekend, visiting V-town, Quiberon, Carnac, walking along the beach, etc. I feel a bit bad for Jasmin though for having to put up with my Bretagne-related bi-polarness. I spent half the time going on about how wonderful and beautiful this area is and then the other half of the time trying to convice her how much it sucked. I'm still torn between the two. And probably will be for some time now.

Mais quand même, elle est pas belle ma Bretagne ???

I was so blown away by the beauty of Bretagne when I went there. I was just kicking myself that it took me 5 whole trips to France before I actually visited that part of the country - I think Bretagne needs a better PR agent!

That house was featured on Thalassa last week, or was it the week before?

I think it was last week, Walt. But that house is really famous and is on pretty much every postcard you'll see of Bretagne. It's in the village where I lived last year, just a couple km's from the gite.

I need to get my fesses to bretagne, i really do. it's a shame it's cold there a lot of time but hey, I'm welsh, distant cousin of the bretons. I'm def used to the cold and rain. Does anyone live in that house btw?

o, how i miss bretagne! i obviously had a much different experience, but it was certainly littered with heartbreak. bretagne was my escape from a bad relationship, and was exactly what i needed to turn my life around!

Someday the bitterness will subside! Although I must admit that I'm pretty sick of being here in beautiful Ithaca for the same reasons you don't like Bretagne sometimes.
