Totally Frenched Out

People, WE DID IT!! After a sleepless night of waking up roughly every 30 minutes and then telling myself to go back to bed because it was still too early, I finally woke up for real to some excellent news. I still think it's too soon to say that change is a sure thing, but the need is there, the hope is there, the possibility is there, and that's already a good start.

I'm off to work now, but before I go, I wanted to give a public shout-out to my friend Alisa. She's donated so much of her free time over these past few months to the Obama campaign, canvassing neighborhoods, calling, doing what she can to get just one more vote, and I am so very proud of her. I strongly feel voting is a devoir, and that every vote counts, so I hope you are enjoying the fruits of all your labor my dear!

I can't quite believe it to be honest, I though those Rebulicans would've declared a national state of emergency or something. The news here won't stop talking about. It's like there is a general sense of optimism here too after so many years of being dragged into Bush's war mongoring and wreckless economic policies...or rather lack of them!! I still find the whole election thing unbelievable and the cost of 5 billion for an election campaign is scandalous. Our politicians here get on a double decker bus and go round and that's about it....all very British!

Despite the positive coverage of the election from the British press they just can't help showing the American voters as dumb.... a news reader asked a man queuing in Chicago to vote what was an acceptable time to wait to vote...to which he replied "I think about an hour is accpetable as that's how long you wait in Disney land right....." Hilarious!

Get yourself better soon and call me, xxxx

Watching the Obama's and the Biden's all on stage together (on tv, of course!) made me cry. It's so wonderful.

Many American voters are dumb, but enough smart ones went to the polls this year, and the U.S. is going to get back on track!

Go Obama! Yeah!

It was like New Year's Eve in NYC last night - it was exciting to be in the midst of so much happiness and hope after these dreary 8 years! And no one I know complained about how long it took to vote - people waited over 3 hours in some places...

Awww thank you Sam! Last night was just magical, and I'm so glad I got to celebrate with all the people I'd gotten to be friends with and worked hard with over the past months. That 'community building' stuff was no joke. And, my very red county increased dem turnout by 6% from the 2004 election - not bad!!

YAYYYYYYYYYY :)
