Duh duh duh duh....

I almost don't even want to write about this for fear of the hoards of people it will send in their direction, but I have an official scoop for all of my dear readers. Drum roll please....the Paris Chipotle will be up and open for business starting next Thursday, May 24th!
It's been a long time coming, with the original opening set for June 2011 (and then August, and then October & then February 2012), but the day has finally come when we will all be able to get our fill of their tasty burritos and lime tortilla chips.

Anyone want to meet me for lunch there on opening day?

  2. while it's not my favorite mexican food... i was known to gorge on chipotle if working late. It will be nice to have an alternative lunch option than the typical baguette! i can't wait to try it! I think I might come join you!

  3. Of course it opens on Thursday. Why? Because I'm working in Paris on Wednesday this week. That's the kind of luck I have!

  4. I found a recipe for their rice that is fan-dan-tastic. http://www.skinnytaste.com/2009/03/chipotle-cilantro-lime-rice-4-pts.html

It's super easy, and really, really good. I usually double it because we love it so much. :)

Too bad I work in Versailles, so no lunch for me. But I think I will bring my visiting friend here for a "taste of America ;)".

  7. Oh my god! I know so many people who will be thrilled by this insider-y information - people who have been shaking with anticipation for months. I have never been to a Chipotle, myself, and Paris seems a weird place to start, but heck! I'm always up for something new.

  8. Really? Wow. Okay, well it's good to know that a quickie taco is now an option. Thanks for the FYI.

You know what else is coming to Paris? My mom just informed me...are you ready? Are you sure....?

    Cheesecake Factory.

What is happening with the world?

  12. They were serving free burritos between 18h and 20h earlier this week, in preparation for the grand opening. Maybe still are!

actually, i've never eaten at a chipotle but a so-so taco given to you from under the warming light is better than no taco at all.

  15. Okay, that is funny. I didn't realize it wasn't open and we dragged ourselves over there to find it shut tight. My kids were devastated, and Dave was like pounding on the window to see if anyone was inside (lol). We ended up eating pizza instead. boo.

  19. You and Ella just made my YEAR. Future visitors are going to have to figure out their own dining arrangements, because I will not be passing up Chipotle or CF next time we're in Paris.

  22. Dave and I went on the 28th. It was delish--the only thing missing was a fountain Root Beer! Talked to the manager for a second at the register . . . he came from Austin to Paris to set up the location and it took him TWO YEARS to get it open. Talk about red tape! Now he just needs to install some automatic shades in the front eating area for the sunny days, because that place was like an oven!
